Recently I have been very busy learning Apple Motion and I would like to make a lot of videos in the future. Most of my videos will be focusing on Motion Graphic. Many of you may ask what is Motion Graphic? Don’t worry, I will write a blog post about Motion Graphic. Anyway, I have started a new Youtube Channel called Dragon Ang Production. I will produce at least a video every month. Feel free to visit my channel for more awesome videos!
Below is my very first introduction video of Dragon Ang Production.
I graduated from University in December 2015, started my own business a month later after graduation. Along the way, there are a lot of people trying to discourage me from starting my own business and the support was next to nothing. There was this “woman” told me that I was foolish to start my own business at such a young age and I will never be successful. I was taken by surprise by the some of the comments I heard. It was hurtful and just imagine how disheartening that can be coming from the person you have so much respect.
Sometimes you will expect support and encouragement from friends, family and relatives but most of the time it will only come down to rejection, criticism or even worse, a laughing stock. It can be really hard to swallow all the negative noises around you. All you can do is focus on your goals and keep on fighting because it’s never going to be easy.
So, I’ve come up with 5 Things To Remember When People Discourage You From Starting A Business.
1. Work hard in silence, let your success be the noise
There will be people who try to discourage you or look down on you, remember do not let all these negative people destroy you. Instead take it as an opportunity to learn and grow, and keep moving forward. Let your results do the talking.
2. It’s your life, live it your way
You may feel a little depress when you receive negative comments, but remember, life is too short to worry about others’ people opinions. You do not want to start living a life that probably doesn’t fulfil your potential right?
3. Follow your passion
Whether people support you or not, do you really want to look back in regret one day down the line? To not know what could have happened if you tried to do what you really wanted to do? Follow your heart and do what you love.
4. Believe in yourself, anything is possible
Always remember, you can do it even if others say you can’t. But you cannot do it if you tell yourself you can’t.
5. The best revenge is to improve yourself
Read a book or learn a new skill, start doing now and you’ll be successful.
There are thousands of people talk about starting a new business every single year, but most of them never take that initiative to get their ideas off the ground. They always like to make excuses like “I’m waiting for the right time” or “I don’t have enough money.” Let me tell you something, there will never be the right time to start a business and you will never have enough money. You just have to find out what it is you really want and find a way to make it happen.
Here are 5 reasons why I became an Entrepreneur:
1. I am too creative to have a 9 to 5.
Some people love the daily 9 to 5 routine of going to work and spending most of the day working but for me flexibility is the key to my creativeness. I will not be happy if I can’t decide what to do with my time and resources. I would prefer working at my own pace and my own time because sometimes I just can’t focus on early morning.
2. I want to create multiple streams of income.
Your earning potential is set by the job if you work for a company. I want to do several other things such as investment, import/export and etc. which are totally not related to my specialty and generate other sources of income from that.
3. I want to be in control of my life.
I always believe that I’m the creator of my own destiny. Instead of trusting my future to another company, I made a decision to take charge of my own life and start a business doing something I loved and passionate about.
4. I would like to live a life of passion & adventure.
Entrepreneurship is like a bumpy road and it certainly comes with excitement, disappointment and it is just like sports, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Sometimes we just have to step out of our comfort zones in order to keep on improving and becoming a better person.
5. I want to leave a legacy.
I don’t just want my business to leave a strong impression but to make a impact to the world. I want to build something that I’ll be proud of one day.
